Print Production Supervisor

Polaris Direct is currently seeking a Print Production Supervisor to join our team.

The Print Production Supervisor oversees digital print production and directs the activities of all operators in the Print Room, ensuring that all production is complete and on schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations for print production department
  • Perform supervisory duties (include training, planning, assigning and directing work within the department) in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable procedures
  • Schedule and coordinate department staffing
  • Contribute to scheduling of new work
  • Maintain Print Room security and cleanliness
  • Ensure printers are productive and maintained appropriately
  • Oversee transitions between shifts, including the communication of all pertinent information
  • Ensure that all operating procedures are followed and communicate the need for additional procedures to the General Manager of Production
  • Maintain relationships with service representatives from our suppliers
  • Manage inventory of supplies and consumables, including tracking paper, toner, ink, etc.
  • Identify potential problems and take appropriate action, including system malfunctions, and initiate corrective action to maintain a high level of productivity at all times
  • Contribute to development and conformance of quality assurance mandates
  • Communicate regularly with various tiers of management as needed
  • Develop documentation for any and all Print Room procedures and initiatives
  • Stay current with latest industry technology and recommend potential upgrades to equipment
  • Work with IT/ Systems Administrator to keep all computer equipment updated and secure
  • Promote a positive and disciplined work environment

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in direct mail industry
  • Prior supervisory experience in a production environment
  • 2+ years of experience with 4-color, high-speed inkjet technology
  • Strong knowledge of Variable Data Printing (VDP)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, self-starter who is able to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven business
  • Ability to demonstrate math aptitude
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment while demonstrating accuracy and quality work. It requires the ability to work cooperatively with multiple departments throughout the organization at all levels. It requires the ability to be part of a team that gives and receives constructive feedback and criticism. This position requires working around potential hazards, to include working with and in close proximity to moving mechanical parts of production equipment, forklifts and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment. The position also requires continuous standing and frequent lifting. It requires the ability to work overtime and weekends as needed, depending on production scheduling needs. This position requires you to complete HIPAA certification and demonstrate full comprehension of the importance of protecting client information.

Production: Bindery Setup / Operations

Polaris Direct is currently seeking Production personnel for our first and second shift teams.

  • Responsible for setting up, maintaining, and repairing bindery equipment
  • Set up and monitor high-speed continuous form cutters and folders during operation and make necessary adjustments
  • Ability to read and follow work orders and instructions in written and oral form
  • Ability to maintain daily manufacturing machine quotas
  • Perform quality assurance checks during production run
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Shift differential for 2nd shift employees
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 3 to 6 months related experience

Production: Inserter Operators / Sorters

Polaris Direct is currently seeking Production personnel for our first and second shift teams.

  • Operation of high-speed FlowMaster and Pinnacle inserters
  • Ability to read and follow work orders and instructions in written and oral form
  • Ability to follow quality assurance procedures to produce error-free work
  • Ability to maintain daily job quotas
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Shift differential for 2nd shift employees
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 3 to 6 months related experience

Production: Lettershop Set-Up Operators / Mechanics

Polaris Direct is currently seeking Production personnel for our first and second shift teams.

  • Responsible for setting up, maintaining, and repairing lettershop equipment
  • Set up and monitor high-speed inserters, inkjet printers, and various lettershop equipment during operation and make necessary adjustments
  • Ability to read and follow work orders and instructions in written and oral form
  • Ability to maintain daily manufacturing machine quotas
  • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Shift differential for 2nd shift employees
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 3 to 6 months related experience

Quality Assurance Auditor, Lettershop (2nd Shift)

Polaris Direct is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Auditor to join our Lettershop team.

The Quality Assurance Auditor will coordinate and proactively verify that all quality assurance procedures and policies are adhered to in a production environment. This position focuses on reviewing client and internal requirements to ensure Polaris Direct produces the highest quality output possible.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day Quality Assurance operations
  • Ensure that all quality control checks are followed for all jobs
  • Verify that all jobs are signed in at start of job
  • Review hardcopy hourly pulls for accuracy
  • Maintain a Quality Assurance hourly log
  • Make corrective action suggestions to the management team based on quality findings
  • Communicate effectively with all departments
  • Maintain working knowledge of US Postal Service requirements
  • Perform administrative duties, related to paperwork and documentation for production
  • Proactively identify quality issues
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate ability to work well in project teams
  • Maintain professional demeanor and exercise tact and discretion when difficult situations arise
  • Obtain understanding of lettershop/bindery production

Qualifications:

  • 2- or 4-year college degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Specialized knowledge of direct mail lettershop procedures
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and project management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of US Postal Service regulations

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment while demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness. It requires the ability to work cooperatively with multiple departments in-house to champion the needs of our customers. It requires the ability to be accommodating and communicative, yet firm when needed with Polaris Direct’s customers and partner suppliers. While this position offers a set schedule of Monday – Friday, 3:30pm to 12am, it also requires flexibility to change schedules or work overtime as needed during projects or campaigns that may require it. Strategic Marketing Services Account Director

Polaris Direct is currently seeking an Account Director for the Strategic Marketing Services (SMS) team.

The Strategic Marketing Services Account Director serves as a team lead and expert on the campaign development process for services offered by the Polaris SMS team, a full-service direct marketing agency, offering creative/design services and multi-channel marketing solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help to secure new business from current and prospective customers, creating new revenue streams where appropriate
  • Develop marketing and creative campaigns based on client objectives and goals
  • Develop strategies by examining client objectives, planning, scheduling and completing design and production requirements
  • Create and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns, from creative strategy through production and analysis
  • Determine project content by reviewing and approving art and copy materials developed by the SMS team
  • Meet work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems; and identifying work process improvements
  • Improve marketing results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing campaign processes, as well as suggesting changes
  • Manage the SMS team and facilitate marketing campaigns by interfacing with clients, answering questions, and responding to requests
  • Look to increase revenue and create profitable business accounts within the SMS group
  • Follow the latest industry standards for data integrity and security (HIPAA / HITRUST)
  • Communicate job flow with internal departments

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of 5+ years in marketing, print or agency services

While this position offers a set schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm, it requires flexibility to change schedules or work additional as needed during projects or campaigns that may require it. This position requires you to complete HIPAA certification and demonstrate full comprehension of the importance of protecting client information. Additionally, this position requires strong presentation skills. It requires direct interface with the internal management team and an ability to manage a team of marketing professionals.

Vice President of Sales

Polaris Direct is currently seeking a Vice President of Sales to join our team.

The Vice President of Sales is responsible for sales within an assigned geographic territory. Generating new business sales and maintaining existing client relationships are also key for success in this job.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting new clients and successfully closing new business
  • Meeting or exceeding annual sales quotas
  • Following-up on sales leads, quotations, proposals and/or inquiries made by clients and prospects within assigned geographic territory or assigned accounts
  • Securing opportunities to quote on client and prospect mailings
  • Assisting with marketing activities including tradeshows, client presentations, client entertainment, etc.
  • Performing with minimal supervision
  • Providing regular updates on sales activity and quote results
