Digital Print Operator

Polaris Direct is currently seeking a Digital Print Operator.

A Digital Print Operator is responsible for operating toner-based, digital print devices and performing minor maintenance. Operators are also responsible for documenting issues and the solution with the equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate toner-based, cut-sheet, digital print devices (RICOH devices)
  • Operation of associated equipment, such as: UV Coater, Horizon SmartSlitter, Xrite ISIS, etc.
  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment, including calibrating digital printers
  • Notifying onsite service technicians and department manager of problems that require high-level service priority
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Completing necessary paperwork during production/operation
  • Ensuring quality of imaged output and auditing quality of input materials
  • Completion of process documentation, which includes QA paperwork, timesheets and operator logs
  • Assisting or working in or with Data Processing department or other areas during slow production periods
  • Assist onsite service technicians to diagnose/troubleshoot issues with equipment

Qualifications:

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months related experience or training
  • Experience in a lettershop or printing environment helpful
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-motivated, self-starter who works well independently or as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to follow instructions in oral or written form
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral or written form
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, and able to handle frequent changes or delays, with a positive demeanor and outlook
  • Ability to demonstrate math aptitude:
    • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
    • Ability to use whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Basic computer knowledge, including printing software and Microsoft applications (Excel and Word)

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment while demonstrating accuracy and quality work. It requires the ability to work cooperatively with multiple departments throughout the organization at all levels. It requires the ability to be part of a team that gives and receives constructive feedback and criticism. This position requires working around potential hazards to include working with, and in close proximity to, moving mechanical parts of production equipment, forklifts and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment. The position also requires continuous standing and frequent lifting. This position requires you to complete HIPAA certification and demonstrate full understanding of the importance of protecting client information.

Facilities Coordinator / Electrician

Polaris Direct is currently seeking a Facilities Coordinator / Electrician.

The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating activities concerned with design, construction, modification and maintenance of equipment and machinery and the building within the Polaris facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation, modification, testing, operating procedure and inspection of new equipment in the facility as needed
  • Perform wiring and rewiring for new equipment or equipment moves
  • Assist production departments as needed with troubleshooting equipment issues
  • Oversee the maintenance of the building, inside and out
  • Direct maintenance of building and assist with requirements for maintaining the building
  • Serve as liaison for third-party suppliers and vendors for services such as cleaners, landscapers, etc.
  • Maintain heat and air conditioning systems, including special server room, print room and warehouse systems
  • Maintain the lighting and perform light plumbing maintenance and issue resolution in the facility
  • Oversee the fire and alarm systems to ensure they are properly working, and coordinate with third-party vendors when necessary
  • Maintain walkways during winter months to ensure plant safety
  • Maintain compressor system and perform maintenance as needed
  • Communicate changes and progress of projects to appropriate parties
  • Maintain vendor relationships and monitor work performed
  • Requisition parts or services as needed
  • Occasional driving as needed

Qualifications:

  • Holds a current Master Electrical License for New Hampshire
  • Exercises sound judgement and the ability to develop alternate solutions when appropriate
  • Responds well to changes in the work environment
  • Ability to develop and implement cost saving measures
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints.
  • Maintains a basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards
  • Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative
  • Comfortable with basic computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office
  • Has a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate math aptitude:
    • Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
    • Ability to compute feet and square footage
    • Ability to draw and interpret blue prints

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment while demonstrating accuracy and quality work. It requires the ability to work cooperatively with multiple departments throughout the organization at all levels. It requires the ability to be part of a team that gives and receives constructive feedback and criticism. This position requires working around potential hazards to include working with, and in close proximity to, moving mechanical parts of production equipment, forklifts and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment. Exposure to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock are present. The position also requires continuous standing, frequent lifting, climbing and kneeling.

Production: Bindery Setup / Operators

Polaris Direct is currently seeking Production personnel for our first and second shift teams.

  • Responsible for setting up, maintaining, and repairing bindery equipment
  • Set up and monitor high-speed continuous form cutters and folders during operation and make necessary adjustments
  • Ability to read and follow work orders and instructions in written and oral form
  • Ability to maintain daily manufacturing machine quotas
  • Perform quality assurance checks during production run
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Shift differential for 2nd shift employees
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 3 to 6 months related experience

Production: Inserter Operators / Sorters

Polaris Direct is currently seeking Production personnel for our first and second shift teams.

  • Operation of high-speed FlowMaster and Pinnacle inserters
  • Ability to read and follow work orders and instructions in written and oral form
  • Ability to follow quality assurance procedures to produce error-free work
  • Ability to maintain daily job quotas
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Shift differential for 2nd shift employees
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 3 to 6 months related experience

Production: Lettershop Set-Up Operators / Mechanics

Polaris Direct is currently seeking Production personnel for our first and second shift teams.

  • Responsible for setting up, maintaining, and repairing lettershop equipment
  • Set up and monitor high-speed inserters, inkjet printers, and various lettershop equipment during operation and make necessary adjustments
  • Ability to read and follow work orders and instructions in written and oral form
  • Ability to maintain daily manufacturing machine quotas
  • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Shift differential for 2nd shift employees
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 3 to 6 months related experience

Warehouse Forklift Operator (Second Shift)

Polaris Direct is currently seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operator for our second shift team.

The Warehouse Forklift Operator oversees shipping and receiving operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing deliveries
  • Follow safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain warehouse in a clean and organized manner to prevent possible accidents
  • Operate hand truck or forklift to move or convey products from shipping and receiving area to work area
  • Check bill of ladings of incoming deliveries for accuracy in quantity and product description; If incorrect, note on bill of lading
  • Distribute samples of inventory to proper personnel upon arrival
  • Check, stage and deliver materials to lettershop area
  • Coordinate material set-up in relation to the lettershop and print production schedule
  • Assist production department as needed

Qualifications:

  • Prior forklift experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, self-motivated, self-starter able to thrive in the fast pace of business-to-business services
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and internet software
  • Forklift certification

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment while demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness throughout. It requires the ability to work cooperatively with multiple departments in-house to champion the needs of our customers. It requires the ability to be accommodating and communicative, and yet firm when needed. While this position offers a set schedule of Monday – Friday, 3:30pm to 12:00am, it requires flexibility to change schedules or work overtime as needed during projects that may require it.
