Polaris Direct has Obtained G7 Master Status for Digital Color Management

HOOKSETT, N.H. (March 9, 2021)—Polaris Direct, a national direct marketing and print company, achieved their G7 Master status for digital color management, reinforcing their position as an industry leader.

The G7 certification, offered through Idealliance, defines a universal appearance for black and white and grayscale imagery. It is a methodology that uses calibration to produce consistency across all print devices through the control of grays, and can be combined with ICC color management to obtain the most accurate outcome.

In order to become a Qualified Facility, Polaris Direct went through a series of processes to calibrate our digital sheet-fed presses – the RICOH C7210X and C9210 – to G7 gray balance. We then proved that these presses were capable of delivering G7 proofs by sending the proofs to Idealliance for their official validation and approval.

Our General Manager of Personalization Services, John Strand, led this effort, saying, “In the current digital print world, there are so many new technologies and print platforms that a certification like G7 is really a must-have. It is the key to consistency. Without a trusted color management workflow that is based on proven principles, there is no way to measure and maintain consistent printed output.”

Our status as a G7 Master means that our clients can rely on us to produce and replicate consistent print on each and every job – saving time and effort during the color proofing stage through this efficient color management process.
