All Lettershops Aren’t Created Equal

There’s tremendous value in working with a lettershop that provides solutions, understands ROI and embraces technology. Fact is, such lettershops can take a potentially complex mailing, figure out how to make it more efficient and cost-effective for you, and ultimately pull it off without a hitch. Other lettershops just don’t have what it takes.

Knowing what to look for in a lettershop can make all the difference. Here are five characteristics of a true lettershop-partner you can rely on:

  1. True Problem Solvers
This is probably the most important trait. Can they identify and solve potential strategic and tactical mailing issues before they become production problems? Ask for case studies that prove their abilities.
  2. Presentation Capability
Does the lettershop conduct presentations on new technologies and share ideas on production capabilities that are relevant to your needs? Lettershops on the leading edge who share their knowledge bring fresh concepts to the table.
  3. Pre-Production Planners
Are they strong pre-pro planners? Do they want to be involved at the start of a project so they can help with key items such as postal efficiencies?
  4. Invested in Technology
A lettershop is limited only by creativity and technology. Assuming creativity is there, do they have the technology to back it up? The unity of good ideas and cutting-edge technology leads to better results. Look for lettershops with a fully digital front end (DFE), multiple personalization technologies, a variety of formats and efficient mailing solutions.
  5. Cycle Time Reducers
Do they “bump” orders or work overtime to meet scheduling challenges? Or do they practice true Cycle Time Reduction by strategically (and consistently) applying a variety of software and hardware solutions that keep projects moving along toward the stated deadline?
